Advdertisements around the school

We have created two advertisements (explained in criterion B) that we have set up around the school. We have strategically placed them in places, such as the hall from where the majority of the classrooms are, and the door to the canteen, so that the large amount of people that pass through thes areas will know we are selling our products.

Interview with Client

Did you like our product?

“Yes, it is fun to play with and relieves stress.”

Does it help you have a higher concentration?

“Yes, because it relieves stress and sopped me from talking to my classmates.”

Do you think that our prices were reasonable?

“Yes, because they were cheap.”

Did you prefer the the balloon stress ball or the slime?

“The slime because you can play in more different ways with it.”

Did our made you aware of our product?

“Yes, because it made me aware.”

This interview allowed us to understand if one of our customers enjoyed our slime. It also helped us understand if our slime achieved its goal which was to help people concentrate in class more. Additionally, it allowed us to understand if our prices were reasonable for the products we were selling. Furthermore, it allowed us to understand which of the two products was preferred, which would allow us to understand which of two we should make more of. Finally, we were able to comprehend  if the purpose of our posters was met.(As it can be seen from the picture the client is enjoying the slime)

Technical Skills

Modifications to FInal Product

Modeling

After sawing these two designs, I have learned numerous things that I will apply towards my final design.  Firstly, I learned that the sawn designs are not hard to make and they do not take a long time meaning we will be able to make many in a short amount of time. Secondly, I have learned that it is important is that it is very important that when the design is finished there is knot at the end so that the thread stays in place. Thirdly, I learned that as the designs look nice and as they don’t take a long time to be made we might not even need to order some printed designs, we could make them ourselves. Finally, I have realized that if we make them ourselves we would not spend any of our money as the lanyard would be ordered from the school catalog and the school already has thread, this would result on only profit.

Making the Stress balls

The first trial to create the stress balls did not go as planned. We followed the video-plan that we had found from previous research, however, it did not work. Then we added some borax in the solution of the glue, water, and hot water that had dissolved borax in it and left it there for the night. The next day we checked on the solution and found out that the parts with the additional borax had become slime. Therefore, we decided to add much more borax in the solution and see what would happen. With the assistance of Abigail, a student who had already completed the method of the slime correctly we added the additional borax. The additional borax made the solution, slime instantly allowing us to not waste any materials.. After that me and my partner realized that there were two issues on why the first trial did not work, firstly, the boiled water was not needed as it dissolved the borax and secondly and most importantly there was not enough borax. Finally, the same method was followed once more allowing us to make two batches of slime. The first batch was put in to little plastic boxes and sold individually for £1 and the other was placed in balloons and sold for £2. If there is another batch to be made there are two things we would do differently firstly, we would use less water as the slime turned out to be to wet and also to use other colors as both of the first batches were yellow.

Our First Sale

Our first sale took place on Thursday 9th of June, and I believe it went very well. The reason why I believe this is because many students were missing from the school and still we sold 4 balloons and 14 slime boxes which gave us back £20. I believe something that really benefited us was that we sent a student that volunteered to help to tell people that we are selling slime and it is really good. This was good as it was coming from a customer which made the students trust him more. I believe on our second sale we should inform people by email and by putting the posters around the school which would allow us to have bigger target audience as more people will now about the event.

Financial Information

Here, we have logged our customers, and how many units each of them bought. The table shows on the left shows this information. Then, we added up all of these values, and got the total units sold. We then used the code (shown above, in the second section of criteiron C) to calculate our profit, using the price of £1.00 for each product. Overall, we have £3.00 to go to make up the money that we spent. Should we sell more products, we are confident we can make up this money and earn some profit as well.
